Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of yarns and fiber does Peg’s carry?
Peg’s carries a variety of yarns, including yarns from Cascade and Knitting Fever (which includes yarns by Jody Long, Louisa Harding, Mirasol, Ella Rae, Araucania, Euro Baby, EYB, Queensland, etc.). She also has a limited supply of Adzula and Malabrigo.
Peg’s also carries Chiao Goo, Lykke cable needles, DPNs, crochet hooks, tips and cables, along with a variety of Lykke interchangeable sets. She also has some Knitters Pride sets and needles.
Peg also hand spins and dyes a variety of fibers, which are available for sale in the Shop. She also carries fibers for your own dying and spinning needs, including merino, Falkland, alpaca and more.
What can you help me with?
Sometimes even experienced knitters and crocheters can get flummoxed by a pattern or a new technique. Before you toss the project, stop in and we might be able to help you.
If you are a new knitter/crocheter and need help understanding a pattern, or it is the first time you are using a chart, we can help.
If you have a pattern but don’t like the yarn suggested, stop on in. The suggested yarn is just that, a “suggestion” and not written in stone.
Do we ship?
Yes, we do ship. We ship via USPS. If you wish any expedited services, the additional cost will be included and charged to your credit car AFTER the package has been shipped.
Terms and Conditions?
All sales are final. While we endeavor to make sure that the yarn you purchase all comes from the same dye lot, we can only go by the numbers on the ball band. NOTE: some yarns do not have dye lots. For example, most of the Malabrigo yarns do NOT have dye lots and while you may purchase several skeins at the same time, there is no guarantee that the colors will run true throughout all the yarn.
If you wish to purchase several skeins/balls of yarn (5 or more), we recommend that we order the yarn for you. Most yarns are shipped in bags of 6 or 10. If we are ordering yarn for you, please note that we require payment for half of your order BEFORE we place the order.
The stupid stupid trains!?
So what do you do if a train is stopped on the tracks at Columbia Road and you are trying to get to Pegs?
As soon as you realize that a train is stopped and traffic is backing up, you need to do the following:
Turn around and go North on Columbia to Cook Road (there is a light). Turn left on Cook Road and proceed to Fitch Road (the next light). Turn left on Fitch and proceed to Bagley Road (the next light). Turn left onto Bagley Road and go to Columbia Road. Turn left at Columbia. You will probably see the stopped train but you will be on the right (or south) side of the tracks. Grand Pacific Junction is now to the west of you.
Where is Peg’s exactly?
Peg’s is in Grand Pacific Junction. While her address is 8078 Columbia Road, the store is NOT on Columbia Road. Peg’s is located in the shopping area with the veranda, between the Depot Barber and LaBlanca Bridal Salon.
